I am really not sure what I just read...it was strange, it was action-packed, it was suspenseful, it was intriguing, and it was horrifying.

Art⭐️⭐️⭐️ Story⭐️⭐️

The artwork was fairly skilled but the body horror was way too chaotic for this monotone, small format book. It gave me a headache. There was so much packed into this creature feature storyline that it lost all cohesiveness trying to explain itself. It’s marketed as juvenile sci-fi horror but seems likely only to appeal to a fairly small audience who happen to be obsessed with the ridiculous yet gruesome.

This book contains a really cool sci-if horror concept that is safe enough for all ages readers without removing all of the teeth from it. My only complaint is that the set-up felt very rushed and oddly paced. I think the author was trying to get it out of the way so they could get to the juicier parts. There’s a lot of backstory info dumping in the middle mixed in with the current plot that could have been mixed in better.

It’s a really fun read and a creative horror idea, just needed a bit better execution.
