Loved this whole series and this one was no disappointment either, think you do really need to read these in order but excellent anyway and i also enjoyed the descritions and setting of san francisco, very well done.

Still fun but I think three is enough of these, several of the standard [a:Jeffery Deaver|1612|Jeffery Deaver|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1305944481p2/1612.jpg] twists and a nice resolution to the trilogy. Oh and this one has a neat McGuffin that reminded me of something like National Treasure.

In this new Colter Shaw thriller, Shaw is trying to find answers to his father's death. Using the clues his father left behind, Shaw is on the hunt for a bag with crucial evidence that can bring down espionage company BlackBridge, who Shaw believes is behind his father's murder. However, things take a turn for the worse when BlackBridge gets on his trail, and a kill order turns up to murder an entire family. And Shaw only has 48 hours to find and save the family. But before that, he has to find the evidence, and make sure he doesn't get killed.

First things first, I liked this book more than I thought I would. It has all the elements of a good thriller - plenty of plot twists, it's engaging, and pretty much unputdownable. While some parts are predictable, some twists took me by surprise. Deaver is highly skilled at misdirecting his readers. You'd think you know better, but before you realise it, you'd have taken the plunge.

While I have read and loved Deaver before-I had a whole Jeffery Deaver phase once with the Lincoln Rhyme series- this is my first Colter Shaw thriller (this is the third one in the series and I am not too sure if I should have read the first two beforehand). And I have not really been able to make up my mind about Shaw, a professional reward-seeker. Do I like him? Probably. With the insane set of skills he has, do I find him a bit unrealistic? Probably.

While I enjoyed the book, I wish it had a stronger plot. And, I am not too sure how many of the things that happened in the book are realistic.

All in all, The Final Thriller is an enjoyable read. You'd probably like this if you are into books that are action-packed and come with many cliffhangers (almost every chapter ended with a cliffhanger).
