This is such a difficult book to describe, at first I was thinking it was time travel but then I realised Sam was travelling into a story called Macbeth. I remember this story well as it was forced on me for three years in a row at secondary school, in fact I developed quite a large amount of hate for it....Oh how I wish this book had been written when I was young, it brings the story to life much more so then any of the essays and opinions I had to read at school. The focus is on what happens in the background when the major scenes from the book are playing out, the author hasn't been tempted to make his characters alter the original play, he does something far more cleverer, he uses unexplained bits already in the play, like an owl being startled, to show his characters having an effect.

The story is short and aimed at 14yr olds-ish, not everything is explained, but this is a series and this book will give you an idea of the scope of the authors plans. If you've got kids then give this book a go, also it is worth reading it yourself.
