I don't quite know how I feel about this collection of poems. When I read the two previous collections in this series I also felt kind of meh about them so I'm wondering if Amanda and I are just not connecting anymore as reader and writer. I know I'm not the only reviewer feeling this way but hopefully I can see some new and fresh content in the future from them.

Stunning book of poems. Very relatable and in the free form style I like. Found several of them to be exactly what I needed to hear.

I have been a longtime fan of Amanda Lovelace and her poetry collections always just hit me. I always appreciate the trigger warnings at the beginning. For this collection I decided to try something different and listened to the audio version, which was very fun because Amanda Lovelace narrated it. It was incredible to hear her words spoken by her. 
This collection is a great compilation of that voice in your head, the voice of society, and what storybooks say. I really enjoyed how this collection used lessons we all heard from fairytales and made them modern and empowering. I think this is my new favorite collection from Amanda Lovelace!

I received an e-ARC from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. 
I don't normally read poetry, especially the modern kind, but wow, this book was beautiful in every aspect. Plus, it gave me everything I needed the moment I read it. This book deals a lot with burnout of a former "gifted kid" and that's exactly my case, so this hit very close to home and I've probably never felt so seen. It also touched on some more topics like grief or queerness.
I am so glad I stumbled upon this book because it was just what I needed. The poetry is amazing and the illustrations throughout this book are unbelievably gorgeous and sweet, so also props to the illustrator.
