Could not get into this book at all. :(

Another fabulous book by Kingsolver. Although it was a more dense read than some of her other books, it is amazing, just amazing in it's scope, breadth and depth. One that will stay with me forever.

Couldn't finish.

First Barbara Kingsolver book I couldn't get into. Love the others.

So good. Barbara Kingsolver is just an amazing author. The story has so many details to it with many different types of media involved. Good story with good lessons to be learned. I have to be honest, I was lost a couple times but not too far deep that I couldn't find my way back. I might have to read this one again, it was excellent and definitely worth reading, in my opinion. I've also read The Bean Trees and Pigs in Heaven and The Lacuna is my favorite so far, but they're completely different stories. This one is so much more involved. I'm excited to dive into her previous novels.

Long and slowly paced, but ultimately a nice read. I appreciated the historical context and characters and the way they created a subtle backdrop that didn’t overwhelm the fictional ones. Enjoyed the little twist at the end, too.
