Weird. I applaud the effort behind the book, but I felt like I needed to be on something to really deeply understand the author’s vision.

After a while I accepted I wouldn't fully understand who was speaking or what was going on with the novel-within-a-novel and just went along for the vibes. A challenging, peculiar novel about grief, loneliness, and how the agricultural revolution (or at least the concepts of "More" and "Later") was a mistake.

Odd and stylish book about grief which ultimately puts form before substance. Though the strong prose and strange structure are initially engaging, the book never clicks into third gear.
