Fiction/Young-adult/Thriller/School/Ensemble/Truth or dare game

The first book in the series, One of us is lying was described as The Breakfast Club meets gossip girl, with a murder. The sequel also features an ensemble cast, a game of truth or dare, and a sprinkling of Strangers on a train.

After the infamous happenings at Bayview High, the Bayview four are moving ahead in their lives, putting all things sinister behind. But Bayview High is right there. And it seems after 18 months, it's happening again.

A new game has propped up which targets one person at a time and asks them to choose truth or a dare. If they don't choose anything, a truth about them is revealed, which, without doubt hurts the people involved. Despite not taking the game seriously initially, people have been scared of the pitfalls of truth being revealed enough that choosing dare becomes a better option every time. Most of the time, the pranks are harmless enough and only in fun. Until it wasn't, and ended in tragedy.

Are Simon and his sick games back? Or is it something else altogether?

What a sequel!! This book was just as good if not better than the first book! I loved how it focused on the slightly younger generation of the characters from book 1! The plot was also extremely interesting and fit with the first book perfectly. It also included all of the character growth, development, and complexity as the first book, including cameos of book 1 characters! The plot twists were also so unexpected, and just like the first book, my jaw dropped multiple times. I don’t know how Karen M McManus did it, usually sequels aren’t great, but this one was definitely amazing! I will be looking forward to reading any future books from KMM! This was definitely a win!
