It’s such a sweet story, I’m a sucker for childhood friends/crushes to lovers.
Joey and Logan are so fun and cute together. I love the friendship aspect. I love the cast of secondary characters that are family and friends! They add amazing flavor and heart to this story!
It’s a sweet southern romance with no lack of hot and steamy times mixed in! Seriously, they are so hot together!
There’s drama.. come on it wouldn’t work if there wasn’t. I was surprised at the turn it took. That’s a good thing! I’m so glad it wasn’t something I couldn’t completely predict. And it wasn’t unnecessary or drawn out. Huge plus for me.

I really adore this story and these characters!
Psst- I want Isaiah’s story!!

Ohmygosh. I devoured this book. I feel like I blinked and was at 80% and feeling anxiety that I was so close to the end of Logan and Joeys story. I couldn’t put it down and wanted to lock myself in a cubby away from distractions because I was completely invested in the story.

Logan stole my heart completely and has me totally smitten. He’s everything you’d want in a guy—loyal to a fault, the biggest and kindest heart and insanely hard working; Joey is one lucky lady.

Joey is my favorite and I relate to her so much in so many ways so that’s probably why her character had my heart from the start as well. She was the perfect lady for Logan and I’m so happy he finally took notice.

Lex did their story so much justice and created another page turning book that rivals the ones that came before. Of the troupes in this series the friends to lovers thing isn’t usually my favorite (I don’t hate them, but I don’t always reach for them first either) and this book was hands down the best for me. This was easily a 5 star read for me and one I’ll recommend to others often.

The perfect, take your breath away, friend-to-lovers romance. Lex Martin delivers steamy chemistry with whopping emotional punch. Whether you've read her books before or Breathless is a brand new read, you'll love jumping into this world and catching up past characters or have no trouble reading it as a standalone. Logan and Joey will both melt your heart and your e-reader.

Joey/Josephine grew up with the Carter family. Her life wasn't exactly picture perfect, so she was treated like the tag-a-long kid sister in their home. Even though Logan and Joey were best friends, the kind that were ride or die, their one phone call when in jail kind of friends, over time Joey's feelings for Logan became anything but sisterly. When Joey leaves without telling him, not only does Logan panic about her whereabouts, but he finally realizes that she isn't going to wait around forever and he needs to come clean about a lot of things going on in his life.

Logan is the perfect mix of sweet, alpha, and hardworking male. He obviously cares for Joey on every level and like most stubborn men, it takes awhile for his head to catch up to his heart. He cares deeply for his family which is super sweet, but also his greatest weakness.

Joey didn't expect to return back home quite so soon, but when she's asked to be a maid of honor for her friends wedding she really can't say no. She isn't really ready to face Logan, since leaving was the only way to save her heart to begin with, but returning also opens a different side to the man she left. Logan is still her friend, but there is also more. Could there be something more or is it just that she left and he missed her?

Joey is the perfect mix of naive, stubborn, and loyal. We live in an age with everything available to us at our fingertips, so while she might not have practical experience, she does have, I'll say, "book knowledge" which is humorous, but also quite naughty. Her loyalty is also what causes her great heartbreak and is her achilles heel.

With the wedding activities and the two of them spending time together they are able to focus on what a future could potentially be like together, but it also is shrouded in lots of hazy doubt and unknowns. Can they finally be honest with each other and have a future together or will they move on and just be destined to be friends?

I love Lex's writing and this is no exception!! Like I said above, whether this is your first time visiting her Texas Nights series or revisiting you will love this book.

Breathless...anticipation of all your dreams come true...and then you wake up. JoJo, Joey, Josephine, or whatever else you want to call her- he has always called her his friend. Its like Groundhog Day for Joey. Her dream has always been him but when she wakes up she's still in the friend zone. The breathless anticipation when you first wake from your dream thinking all your wishes have come true BEFORE reality sets in and your heart is crushed again.

Joey has lived with that breathless anticipation for far too long. She KNOWS in her mind he will never see her that way. For Pete's sake, she ran away to try and break the spell he has on her but no. Her foolish, hopeful, lovesick heart did not get the memo. And so its with breathless anticipation and a whole lot of nervousness that she tries to speak with her heart.

Breathless is a swoon worthy second chance romance. Two friends embarking on a new journey. One that will leave them...Breathless.

This was so dang cute! The added mystery/angst of all the secrets being kept gave this small town friends to lovers romance a fun edge and I really enjoyed it.

Sehr sympathische Charaktere.
Gute, realistische Entwicklung.
