Cautionary tale to women not to lose themselves while taking care of children and family. Enjoyed this book immensely, not sure if it’s because I’m the same age as the main character or because it was really a good book. With that said, I’m sure a lot of women will e able to relate to this book.

Courageous, realistic, and funny novel that made me a little teary in places. I loved that it took place partly in Ann Arbor. The trip to Rome made me nostalgic for my own Italy adventure I took a decade ago. I really enjoyed this and will gladly read the authors other works!

Kind of a coming-of-age story for post-menopausal women. Romantic, heart-breaking, funny, inspiring, and insightful, with just a tiny dab of gravitas. ;-)

Maggie, a 53 year old woman with 2 adult children, re-evaluates what her life should be after going through a separation and subsequent divorce after 27 years of marriage. Adam, her husband, asks for a divorce after indicating he had an affair with a woman in her 30s. Initially, Maggie clings to the hope that Adam will want to get back together and spend the rest of their lives together. When that hope does not come into fruition, Maggie decides to explore the idea of being alone. What follows involves a Roman holiday, moving to another town, and discovering the possibility of a new love. When Adam turns up in her life again, will Maggie go back to her "old" life and continue on her journey to self-actualization.

I fully enjoyed this book and feel that others will connect to this story. The writing was excellent and felt the author did a great job in developing the characters. I would be interested in seeing what becomes of Maggie in the future.

I have really enjoyed all of Pagán’s books, and this one was no exception. I especially loved the older age of the main character - I feel we don’t get enough stories of women in their 50s, and Maggie was such a wonderful character to watch grow after her husband left her.

Cute read — I thought it was a relatable story. The title didn’t really flow with the story, though.

Thank you to the publishers and Netgalley for the ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I must admit, it took me very long to get around to reading this one. It was not because I did not want to, think I just got overwhelmed as I had requested far too many books on NetGalley, but I am trying to get through the backlog.

This was a lovely book. I really enjoyed it. I started off not really liking the main character as she seemed too needy. I actually considered abandoning the book, but I am so glad I persevered. The character grew in leaps and bounds. This is such an important book for ladies to read. We tend to lose sight of who we are when we get married and have children and when we are left alone, we don't know ourselves anymore. This book was all about one woman's journey to learning to know and love herself again.

I highly recommend this one as I really enjoyed it!
