I really loved this book - history and science and character development woven into a compelling narrative that dominated my thoughts and had me searching up old Nat Geo documentaries this week. Time to get back to Yellowstone and do some wolf-watching.

(Audiobook). I sped the book up to 1.25x because the narrator is very slow and monotone.

This story could’ve easily derailed by trying to become a biography about the main wolf, 06. But instead it touches on her story in relation to the world around her. It is careful not to defend the safety of one wolf, but instead gives objection accounts of the many packs in the area, and both sides of people rooting for or against their protection.

The epilogue is especially interesting.

A complex and fascinating look at the reintroduction of wolves into Yellowstone. Really enjoyed this book.
