This was really disappointing or my expectations were just too high…I’m just happy to finish this because now I can start once upon a broken heart !! Also the girls in here are just too young like 16/17 and their love interests are very old immortals it kept bothering me

I really enjoy the whimsy of this series and the authors imaginative use of descriptive phrase. How she describes color is whimsical and magical.

This installment was tense from the very beginning, with higher stakes and a more intricately woven plot. The story alternates between the perspectives of Tella and Scarlett, with each sister navigating her own personal struggles and romantic challenges. At first, some of the romantic subplots felt a bit unnecessary, but they ultimately helped develop the characters and their relationships. The first half of the book is a bit slower, though it offers interesting insights into the sisters’ heritage and the broader world around them.
The second half is far more engaging, with both sisters playing pivotal roles as the plot thickens and the complex dynamics between characters come to the forefront. The story’s romantic and personal arcs feel true to each sister’s personality—Scarlett’s is tender, gentle, and mature, while Tella’s is messy, complex, multifaceted, and fiercely proud. Overall, the latter half delivers a satisfying payoff, making the book a compelling continuation of the series.

This was a great ending to the Caraval series!
I loved all the side quests and how everything had a reason in the story.
Stephanie Garber’s writing style is so immersive you truly feel like you are watching a movie instead of reading words on paper. However because of this descriptive writing I will be scarred forever from a scene in chapter 40, IYKYK!
I loved how everything wrapped up and how the relationships truly took shape in the end.
