I received a copy of this ebook in a Goodreads giveaway. This book was confusing and gross. I didn’t know what was happening but I knew I didn’t like it.

So many mistakes by the author that should have been caught on a re-read or editing session.

Writing style is hard to understand. Poorly written and seems unedited. There are many grammatical mistakes. I feel bad to say this as the author probably tried to hard. But I did not enjoy any of what I read.

Got an ebook version through a giveaway, so I really wanted to respectfully give it a shot. While there is some potential in the writing style itself but also the story, I found it tough to get through.

The narration and pacing feel confusing and messy. Internal monologues are often redundant/repetitive. A lot of sentences seem incomplete - couldn't really tell if it was an intentional choice or by mistake, since the whole thing is riddled by grammar and spelling mistakes. The last few chapters felt rushed and the ending in general left a lot of open questions for me personally yet at the same time I don't care enough about any of the characters to actually find out.

I genuinely do think the core of the story could be turned into something truly interesting/thrilling, unfortunately the full novel didn't do it for me.

There so many incomplete sentences throughout the whole book. I noticed it on the very first page and skipped to the half-point and the format was exactly the same.

I received this in a Storygraph giveaway hosted by the author. The premise sounded intriguing but I could not get past more than 10 pages due to the poor grammar and language skills. This felt like someone used voice to text while they were high and had just watched The Godfather and was convinced that they had thought of the greatest mafia story since then.

I feel bad giving this such a low rating, as it is obvious the author put a lot of energy into crafting this book. However, if it wasn’t for the fact that she was kind enough to send me an ARC, I wouldn’t have finished it. I’m honestly confused on how so much happened in the story without any real sense of how it all unraveled. I think some major character/relationship development would’ve helped. The writing style is what bothered me most though—there were so few full sentences, hardly any use of prepositions, random metaphors & symbolism that didn’t make much sense, etc. I feel like the story has potential, it just needs a solid couple editing sessions & a thorough parsing out of the plot & character development.
