We get it Olivia, you're woke, no need to comment on it every single chapter.

Also I'm just gonna say that for a book with such a huge focus on the characters, I think it would be better to make them interesting. Like, all of these people could die and I would just not give a shit, they're either boring, annoying, or both. I get that they're supposed to be morally grey/evil, but like, you can do that while still having them be a little interesting. I just want to have any kind of emotional reaction to them. The only one I had the slightest liking to was Callum. He was just there dicking around, slay behaviour. Also when he
"fought" with Parisa and got her to kill herself in the mind palace. Pretty cool until I realized she didn't actually die
. Absolute psychopath I wanna hear more from him.
Also the world-building is really confusing. Are the magic people and normal people migling? Do the normals know magic exists?? Can they see the fantastical creatures?? I read the etire book and still don't know. I think that magic people are seperate from normal ones, but there is still a whole ass college for magic?? What?? How does that work??

Overall, Interesting concept but poor execution.

I really enjoyed the world building, and the exploration of each character as individuals as well as their group dynamics. the perspective taking of the chapters was also interesting, and the narrators all added nuance to their performances in ways I appreciated (especially during internal monologues). unfortunately Part 6 definitely got too trigger heavy for me, and I found the expositions started to get both much longer and much less believable. not the book for me, unfortunately!

This book dragged. Libby and Nico were interesting. I liked Reina’s powers. For so much of the book I wasn’t sure what the “point” was.
