Ford and Millie have my whole heart!!! I read this book in one day, at work, I could not be stopped. The prolong took me in and I was not stopping the book until I knew where ford and Millie story was going. To know how much Ford loves Millie was everything. I love a good single dad trope, but this one might be my favorite. Ford was protective over his daughter, and the way he fought for her was adorable and made me love him so much. His daughter was so precious, and her relationship with Millie was so cute. When Fords daughter told Millie about how he has her picture up in his office my jaw dropped. There were so many moments in this book that had me kicking up my feet, giggling, and freaking out. Ford taking a picture of them and making it his screensaver??? Then making a wish that Millie will have a crush on him again all these later??? The second chance romance in this book was done SO WELL. you could tell they were meant for each other. And let me just say the scene in the office…..I had to pause and look at a wall to calm down because that was SPICY AND SO HOT. I loved these two so much. I never liked second chance romances they were never my thing when looking at books and tropes but this one right here??!! I’m so happy I read this book. I will now be finishing the series and I’m literally so excited this was perfection.

It was cute when I started it but I kept not having the desire to pick it back up after putting it down and I can't read a book in one sitting like some can. I may come back to this at some point to finish it.

Second time reading through!! Re read as I started the second in the series but had forgotten what happened in this one!! That alone explains the book honestly - nothing bad and very easy read but nothing crazy memorable either. The characters were wholesome and the second chance romance was beautiful, but not my fave by Denvey Perry!!

Tropes/Themes:
-MF contemporary romance
-Sports romance (he’s a former NFL player turned college football coach)
-Second chance (they were best friends in college, but something drove them apart just before they were about to become more than friends)
-Workplace romance (he’s the new football coach and she’s the assistant athletic director)
-Single dad
-Small town
-Dual POV
-Book #1 in an interconnected standalone series

Another solid Devney Perry romance! I love a hero that’s so obsessed with the heroine that he’ll do absolutely anything to make sure she doesn’t get away again. Lots of fun scenes with Ford’s 9 y/o daughter. The 3rd act conflict actually kind of made sense here and wasn’t dragged out too long.

CWs for absentee parent, infidelity (not between the main couple)

Story: 3/5
Audiobook: 5/5 (narrated by Teddy Hamilton & Ava Erickson)
Length 7h57min

The plot got me hooked but I feel like it lacks execution. The writing is just okay though but I see no chemistry between Millie and Ford. I wanted to see what they were like in the past but we were only given the prologue and some references. I also wanted to see how Ford interacted with his team and not just the one guy. Also I found Millie's need to run away in every problem annoying. The ending is a bit rushed too.
