An interesting, but not entirely successful faux-Ibsen melodrama, intriguing mainly because of its polarizing titular character, and the possible contemporary feminist interpretation. Although I enjoyed reading it, it doesn't seem terribly stage-worthy in this somewhat stilted translation.
