It was nice to read short stories again. They make for entaining short breaks in a busy week.

Although I did not like all 10 of them, I feel like many of the stories will stay with me for a long time. They share some running themes like writing, parenting and getting over a past relationship. My favorites were:

1) Five Tuesdays in Winter
(about second love, fatherhood and bookshops)

2) Waiting for Charlie
(about an old man looking back on life)

3) Timeline
(about a writer, her brother and their neighbours)

These stories are so messed up. I didn’t read the last few of course since I stopped at 72%, but I finally decided to free myself from the chaos and misery. There was one story about a father, daughter and stepmom that was somewhat endearing, but otherwise yuck. I do have a little trouble with short stories because I never know don’t know what I’m getting into but this collection was not for me. I would not recommend it.
