The below review was supposed to post a couple of days ago:

A very solid Alex Cross book. Patterson always finds new ways to keep me on my toes. The final quarter of the book was incredible.

The grind continues.

pretty lightweight, simplistic, predictable, stereotyped thriller, not even a good "guilty read"

Well holy crap! This is one of the few times that this series has left me with a cliffhanger at the end of a book. I guess I'll have to start the next one really soon - normally by the end of the book you get the sense of how it's going to end. Not this one. Not this one AT ALL. Ughhh why must I work in an office where I can't READ all day?!

This story was just okay. I wasn't excited about it at all. I felt a little deja vu and like I knew what was coming at the end. I wasn't sure exactly who the Mastermind was but I figured it would be from a certain group and it was. I was annoyed because something similar was done before in earlier books and that's why I knew where it was going. Another thing was expected too but I won't say because I don't want to spoil the story.

BORING.........
dark mysterious tense fast-paced
Plot or Character Driven: A mix
Strong character development: Yes
Loveable characters: Yes
Diverse cast of characters: Yes
Flaws of characters a main focus: No

Maybe a little less memorable than some of the others in the series, but still a page-turner. The big "shocker" at the end was less shocking than it should have been being that I went "Oh, I bet it's so-and-so." Got me through some of the time I spent on the couch after I threw my back out.

This was an okay read, the storyline was a bit predictable at times while at others it lacked a certain level of believability. The characters are fairly well developed during the book and it does set up the end well for the next installment. Not one of the best Patterson books though
