I read the last book mainly to finish the series, but I actually enjoyed it more than the last few! I think have more characters points of view was nice, and they ended the series really well.

It was really hard not to find Zoey whiney at the beginning of the book. I understand that she made huge mistakes, but it happens. Instead of wanting to try to fix it though, she just thought "I deserve it." If you really thought you deserved it, you would at least be attempting to take part in saving the world from Neferet and Darkness and all that and not taking yourself out of the equation. If you think you deserve the bad things coming to you, then it would be ending in sacrificing yourself for others and not just deciding to rot away until you're dead in jail. Maybe it's the social worker in me talking, but also my own self-deprecation makes me want to give myself to others (maybe too much, to a fault.) When Zoey said she deserved to face her consequences and Stark yelled at her to live and face them, I felt that. I shrieked "PREACH." Even Grandma said "now you'll have to face the consequences of your actions, but that does not mean you may give up and cause the people who love you even more pain." And then any other time in the book that she was ready to do awful things she was able to call on spirit or Nyx for her and everyone else, but now all of a sudden that goes out the window?

During Neferet's crazy woman monologue, I did find myself feeling bad for her. Her disgusting father messed her up, and if she had chosen Light instead of Darkness, she could have done amazing things and made so many positive changes, specifically in her monologue where she said "there will be no innocents being abused by predators."
I think the scenes from Neferet's POV were well written. They truly showed that Neferet was batshit crazy, and there was enough descriptive detail to make me cringe while reading. It was a perfect amount of gore detail.

I also think that Kalona's death scene was one of the best written parts of the book too. Having him be forgiven by Nyx touched my heart. The ending fight scene with Aurox sealing Neferet was also well-written. Suspenseful, not juvenile like past books and dialogue, just right.

I was very satisfied with the end, which I find doesn't happen super often with YA books for me. The series started out a juvenile, with hard to get through dialogue and some obnoxious plot points that were unnecessary, but it evolved into something wonderful.

Disappointing Finale: Neferet's imprisonment in a "mini mountain" feels like a temporary solution at best, especially considering the abrupt ending with a teasing "Afterward..." chapter. The final battle itself is rushed and lacks emotional impact, leaving readers unsatisfied. Zoey's victory over Neferet, built up over twelve books, unfolds in a confusing sequence with minimal struggle.

You have GOT to be kidding me. This better be it.
My guess, Zoey will get out of the murder charges and somehow Zoey and her "gang" will figure out how to wash away all of Nefrets evil and all will be forgiven--aka the title, Redeemed. Boring!!!!!

Okay firstly, the cover design is atrocious. Who the hell is the woman in the back supposed to be? Neferet? Because Neferet famously has red hair. ALSO the lady in the back has arm tattoos! Only Zoey has tattoos outside of her face!
This book is genuinely so bad, but in a really weird way I enjoyed it. We get a version of Neferet who is no longer concerned with subterfuge and hiding, and it's nice to see Zoey and the gang finally vindicated. It's also kind of fun to see the unapologetically evil version of Neferet.
But oh my god, what the hell is going on? Why is the word supplicant used a thousand times? What was the purpose of anything that went on at the hotel? Not to mention Zoey and her friends totally failed to save like two hundred people and they just never mention it.
I do like that Neferet has to be beaten by her own magick so they use Aurox. That was pretty clever. There also was nowhere near enough falling action in the story and I'm going to say it...I never really liked Stark as the ultimate love interest.
I finally finished this series after many, many long years of giving up. Am I glad I did? Yes. Am I ever going to read another book by the Casts? No, never.

really excited for this series to be ending. it was very drug out. I honestly was happy with the ending. I'm happy to see it end but also sad to see it go. I look forward to reading more PC and Kristin cast in the future.

A really prolonged way to finish finish series - the story wasn't gripping and I had to listen to it on Audible to actually finish the book (which I had previously started reading maybe 6 times and got super bored)
