A great story, especially for teenage girls that have responsibility thrust upon them and/or find themselves having to move frequently. Hope is inspiring.
I enjoyed this sweet, uplifting story about a teen girl who's finding her way in life and in the small, backwards town to which she's just moved. HOPE WAS HERE is a quick, clean read that preaches the importance of family (not necessarily biological), friendship, honesty, and pitching in to help improve communities and make a difference in individual lives. I didn't love it, but I definitely liked it.
It's not life changing or anything but honestlie it's totallie the book for right now. Hopeful. Political. Uplifting.

this book kind of sneaks up on you. i didn't really realize how much i was enjoying it until it was almost over.
3,5: i quite enjoyed this one! it was sweet, full of heart; talking about politics, family and work. i wished it was a bit longer to expend certain topics, yet it kinda makes since to be short since it is for teens. i'm really glad i read it, and certain quotes will stay with me for sure!
this was my favorite book as a kid. i read it for the first time when i was in fourth grade and reread it about 12 times in the span of one school year. this book lives in my head rent free ten years later, even though i don't remember everything about this book (plot, writing style, characters, etc.), i remember the feeling this book evoked and how much i loved it.

sad and very good, story of a young girl whos a waitress and goes to school. great book to read especially if you want a little catharsis.
