In pure John Waters fashion, Liarmouth was divinely (see what I did there?) filthy, often times hysterical, anarchic, unpredictable, and fun. I was less keen on the daughter and her followers, whom I found bland and clichéd... they lacked the spark that Marsha, Daryl/Richard, and Adora had. The plot gets more and more ridiculous as it goes on, and the climax does not disappoint. Is it high literature? Hell no. It's the complete opposite of that, and I for one really liked it and cannot wait to see the film adaptation.

genuinely impossible to coherently describe the contents of this book. i think it would (and can) be a hell of a movie but as a book it feels like it overstays its welcome even in its short length
