The first book I read by Will Dean was Dark Pines in May 2021. I then read Red Snow for the 52 Book Club Challenge in January 2023. Now, I am not a murder mystery genre reader normally. However, with this challenge I have broaden my reading horizons and Will also happens to have an adorable St Bernard dog who is the size of bear and truly believes he is a lapdog! He has some lovely social media posts with Bernie's antics!

Anyway, to Black River! Like the first two books in the Tuva Moodyson series, this book is an slow burner. There is a twist right at the end of the story, which left me gasping! I really like Tuva, a deaf woman who is a newspaper reporter, who has recently moved to Malmo from the small Swedish town of Garvick to pursuit her career. Her best friend Tammy has gone missing, but who has taken her and why? On the shortest night of the year, Tuva has to use all her journalist skills to find Tammy!

I give this book 4 stars.
