This book started out as just a regular run of the mill college romance, but it turned into something so much more toxic. Tessa may be one of the most naïve heroines I've ever read. She continually lets this group of "friends" treat her really terribly. Then she goes back to them over and over again.

The person that treats her the worst is Hardin, and he is the one she can't stay away from.

They keep clashing together. She believes him over and over despite the fact the he shows her otherwise that he can't be trusted.

I really just kept reading this book to see how the train wreck ended.

Boy! It did end with a spectacular crash!

His betrayal was more than I ever could have imagined. He takes her virginity as a way to win a bet with his friends, and the whole time tells her that he loves her. Then even after he professes his love over and over he shows his friends the evidence that she was taken. He continues to hide their relationship over and over. He is so bipolar. He will be very nice and sweet and then the next minute verbally abuse her so thoroughly that I don't think she should ever talk to or see him again. I'm so glad this is ficitional, because I feel so bad for Tessa. She shouldn't allow anyone to treat her this way, yet she keeps making excuses for him and going back to him.

First off…why did this book have to be so long? Tessa and Harden were so toxic and I had no choice but to listen to every second. Tessa was very naive and immature at times. It’s unfortunate some people put up with these types of relationships. Harden was your typical jerk.

Sue me. I adored this series. This series was like a toxic relationship simulator; the highs were highs and the downs were so, so terrible. Language made it an easy read but Todd's ability to give such voice to the characters really sticks with you between reads. There's something that you can love and hate about each character, and sometimes you can really, really hate them. But at the end of the day, you're still cheering them on.

So, here's the deal: I read this book on a whim, not really expecting much, just another contemporary, lighthearted story-but After was anything but. The way these enticing chapters toyed with my emotions ceaselessly is something I hardly ever experience with novels, and since there are so many series out there nowadays, it can be hard to find something original and captivating that you truly enjoy. Yet I hung on to every single word on every single page addictively, no matter how ridiculous the plot line was or how stupid the characters could be. Isn't it weird, that you can find yourself enthralled not with award winning novels but with fanfiction originally from Wattpad? Over the years I've come to learn that the books I love most aren't always the best pieces of literature. Sometimes they are, but often they are also stories written by first time authors with zero experience. That's the beauty of reading stories like these:though they have many, many flaws, they can be overlooked for you still had a great time reading. That's what After was, and I couldn't be happier I picked up this amazingly imperfect book.

I read this book on wattpad when it was a Harry styles fanfiction around three years ago and I had forgotten most of the plot of the story and most of the events that happen in the book. This book was by no means the best work of fiction I have read, but it was a good book that was easy to read and it was an addicting storyline that made me want to keep reading. I am for sure going to finish this series.

I don’t know why so many people hate this book. I binged it in two days. It gave me so much nostalgia from college. I know the story has its low points, but it’s been addictive. I loved Hardin and Tessa together. Hardin irritates the fuck out of me more times than not.
