You distract the oxygen in my cells with how precious you are. I don't mean to hurt you for my own enjoyment. There's a difference between teasing you harmlessly, and causing you pain. I go too far sometimes. I don't know when I have until it’s too late, But, Amber." I look back at her. "You can alway tell me, and I will correct or explain myself. You're my wife. You are dear to me.

this is why you don’t judge a book by its cover because this book was so good! my only complaint is that the cover doesn’t really do the big any justice. i love heroes like liam. it was never explicitly mentioned, but to me he belongs to the antisocial personality disorder spectrum. this book isn’t a dark romance, so he’s not completely “evil” but there are things that you will see him do that doesn’t really fall inside of the norms.

besides that, i also loved how quirky and unapologetic liam was. this is the guy who still loves barbie movies and has stuffed animals in his bedroom but it doesn’t make him any less sexy. i also loved amber and could relate to her inner struggles with writing and also her height (i’m her height).

Thank you to Camilla Evergreen for providing an advanced ARC copy of this novel.

This charming RomCom is a perfect read for Valentine’s Day!

I thoroughly enjoyed Liam and Amber’s grumpyxsunshine dynamic as a couple. Their banter is fun, humorous, and often utterly heartwarming.

Additionally, Liam and Amber both experience meaningful character growth, which is a staple in Camilla’s novels while still being low stress and relatable.

I loved reading this and I can’t wait for more Camilla Evergreen novels!

This book was not what I was expecting, and at first I found the characters kind off odd and cartonish. I struggled a bit to get into the story and try to understand both characters, and mainly Liam. After a while, I came to the conclusion (and it may be the wrong one) that he probably has an autism spectre disorder. And after that it kind of made more sense and I started to understand the actions, the struggles , the difficulties in him.
Amber is our grump and dark character in this book. She is an author, and is not a successfull one. She struggles with her parents and her life misses something. When on her birthday Liam, an old friend, returns with a marriage agreement she at first things it's nuts, but then what does she have to lose? They get married, start living together and then the fun beggins. Thay are forced to addapt and learn to live with another person, and even though he is obcessed with her, we can see their both commitement.
Liam is all sunshine and glittery. He is extremelly rich, and even though he believes no one notices he cares for those around.
They complement and balance each other and are a nice change in this Valentine's season.

I went into this one expecting a zany read. I love Camilla’s unique plot lines and how they can sometimes be bizarre. It’s a very fine line for me between eccentric and creepy or maybe just too weird. This one was definitely in the “too weird” category for me.

MMC’s bedroom is described as: “ pale, pink curtains, thrown wide, sunlight illuminates the white carpet covered with hundreds of stuffed animals. Dolls in their original boxes or post on take up a full shelf along the far wall. White and pink bedding, adorn a plush bed beyond a lace canopy dappled with butter butterflies,”

apparently he is obssesed with all things “cute”- which comes up often. In his POV a he is looking up “a selection of gothic dresses, spiderweb tights, corsets, and accessories….. picturing my adorable Amber in the outfits, as though she’s my very own life-size dress up, doll, is nearly enough to undo me”. I cannot go on. Other goodreads reviews that are 2 stars say that it was creep and they thought at one point that he might be a pedophile. Whyyyyyyyy. 😭

I always get excited about a new Camilla Evergreen book, they are the nectar of life as far as I’m concerned. I always give an inward squeal of joy when a new one is announced. I devour them instantly as they never disappoint.

This was a great story of grumpy/sunshine. Liam looks like a dark brooding Heathcliff type but inside he’s a marshmallow who has a collection of cuddly toys and reads romance novels. Amber looks like a cute elfin-type Alice in Wonderland lookalike but is a snippy, demonesque writer, who finds her niche in dark romance. Almost ten years ago, they wrote a pact to marry each other at the age of 26 if neither married before. On Amber’s 26th birthday, Liam shows up to demand she honour that pact.

This was a great story of opposites-attract but also friends to lovers. Watching Liam’s attempts to win Amber over was incredibly amusing, almost as much as her attempts to deny the attraction between them. The nicknames they had for each other (Liam-Cutie, Amber-Bambi) were adorable and not used excessively unless in context. I also enjoyed seeing the behind-the-scenes processes and turmoil of an indie-published author (so sorry Camilla, I wish it were easier on you) and Liam’s help for her, devoting his time to her ‘brand’. I mean it is his business, his job, but his devotion to Amber was incredible.

I am looking forward to the next novel in the Fire At Will duology by Storm Sterling, I need more of these two and this universe.

As always, Camilla delivers a delightful, fun, swoony story with plenty of tension and heat, but no spice.

If you’re a fan of frenemies to lovers, marriage pacts, grumpy x sunshine with a female grump, this is probably for you. It also has a splash of workplace romance, bullying vibes, and he falls first and HARD.

I cackled. I swooned. I kicked my feet and giggled.

While it may be fiction, it was also full of helpful pointers about branding a small business

"Why are you so desperate for a wife?
Don't you have hundreds of women throwing themselves at you daily?"
His hand reaches, cups my chin, and reels me in. "I might. But not a single one of them is as precious to me as you are. And not a single one of them is bound to me via signature beside a red sauce stain."

Before I begin I want to thank the author, Camilla Evergreen, for giving me this ARC.

This was the CUTEST book and I had so much fun reading this. I really liked the characters and all the little details. One of my favorite things, beside the fact that I really loved that Liam was such a cutie, was the inside behind the process of publishing a book. I never really thought about all the work, research, and marketing when you're publishing a book.
Amber was so relatable and her thoughts were so funny That means he's grass-fed, I'm going to use that to insult people.

I recommend this to anyone and everyone looking for a feel good, cozy , lighthearted romcom for Valentine!!

Liam. What a cutie pie! (If not slightly unhinged, as all good male leads should be)
I'm a huge sucker for he falls first and hard, I love me some marriage agreements (on a taco bell napkin is even better), and I adored the glance "under the hood" so to speak of marketing a book. Amber is exactly who I end up being when left to my own devices. Scattered, moving in about a million directions, and into a good color coded spreadsheet.
I would love to work in Liam's office so I can ride the annoyingly slow elevator, talk on the walkie talkies and most importantly experience the amazingness that it would be to have Brian deliver my mail.
I read an early copy of this book, you should definitely get it ASAP!
