I love the Strike books and this one did not disappoint. Definitely one of my faves! The only reason it didn't receive full marks in my eyes is that it did feel like the reveal came out of the blue in the last 5% (although it was still satisfying).

This installment of the Strike series tackled cults. Getting to see Robin go undercover for a prolonged period was exciting and made the story feel more action-y than some of the other books. There was a real sense of threat throughout the story which kept escalating, keeping you hooked. The plot was hefty, with tons of events and characters to keep track of, which meant less time was dedicated to the personal lives of Strike and Robin, but there were still some satisfying character moments.

Overall, though, the book didn't stand out from the rest of the series. Although cults are an interesting setting the author didn't really seem to have much original to say about them - why do people join them, why someone might become brainwashed, for example. I also do think it could have been slightly shorter - the lengths of the books in this series are getting a bit out of control. In regards to Robin and Strike's will-they-won't-they
I think the books have kept readers hanging on for far too long at this point and it's starting to become very frustrating!
