Interesting insight into creativity and how meditation can expand your consciousness to find a deeper Self. A very heady, reflective book with short essays on sporadic topics of art and the search for inner happiness.

Reread after restarting my TM practice, such an inspiration!

This is great book about the creativity and balancing life. I can attest first hand that you don't have to be a fan of an artist's full work to admire an artist. There is a lot of insight into the how David Lynch has become who he is, how he has gotten to where he has, and how his films came to be as they are.

Part autobiographical, part inspirational - David Lynch genuinely wants to share with you what has worked in his life to help him find creative satisfaction and happiness. He's not trying to sell you anything here, but pulls no punches in being direct about his beliefs in where he's coming from.

The subjects and moments of this book come somewhat linearly flowing out almost as if as stream of consiousness in minor bits of information presented like factoids of information. But if you pay attention, it does all string together quite nicely to become almost like a bit of "Fatherly Advice" to take with you as you go out into the world and create (or do whatever you to be be happy).

Much of the book is a heavy endorsement of transcendental meditation - how it becomes apart of his life - and how it continues to play a huge role in his work. He has some great things to share about life that he has learned through these experiences.

There is a lot of discussion of unified fields and parts of Quantum Theory presented as scientific fact and while I share SOME overlapping ideas referenced I would argue they are not quite endorsed by science at this point.

Some of it will be for everyone - some of it, not so much:)
