He likes to sleep around a lot. He did a total 180 and it didn’t really seem like him in the second half of the book. Still liked it though

I found that the more realistic (for lack of a better term) dynamics of this kind of working relationship made it difficult to experience the escapism I usually prefer in my reads. Romanticizing these circumstances as they were crossed a line for me that Seraph book 1 did not. I also didn’t find the redemption arc believable since it seemed to require a complete personality transplant on Brendan’s part. I have loved every Eloide Hart book but this one didn’t do it for me.

The drama was drama-ing and the spice was spicy-ing between Brendan and Marlowe. The way that Brendan was acting at the beginning of the book made it seem like he actually wasn’t 37 but instead 20 because he was acting like a straight up spoiled child brat. After he got his foot out of his ass he did a complete 180 which was great to see. I’m glad that Marlowe never allowed herself to become a pushover and stood up for herself when Brendan took the situation in the office too far.

In the end, I’m glad that Brendan and Marlowe received their happy ending. If anyone deserved that was Marlowe and Tabby.

Also, I wish Marlowe would’ve told Brendan where Joe lived so that Brendan could hire someone to kick his deadbeat ass!
