He’s just a douchey white guy. DNF’d at 35% bc I didn’t really care about either character so the sex is just filler

The best grovel in a novel, argue with the wall. Seeing the male hero fall in love with the heroine and her daughter was magical.

This was fantastic.  Elodie Hart does not get the hype she deserves.  I honestly had NO idea how she'd redeem this MMC after what he did, but she did and she did it well.  It would have been a 5 star read but something about the FMM fell flat for me-- I don't know if I truly knew her personality beyond being the mother to a sick child (maybe the point?).

The basic premise is dumb. Based on the character we are presented with it makes zero sense. Use the friend’s money. Duh.
That said I really liked the last third of the story. Brendan’s come to Jesus moment felt real and I liked the development of his pursuit of forgiveness. That’s why it got a 3.
