WOW, what a disappointment... I was so looking forward to this book. I love books with amnesia. Something happened and our MC has to figure out what happened. But sadly... not much happens in 50%. No found memories. Nothing exciting. No scary things. I was so bored that I even skipped to the end to see if something would happen. Hint... not really. The later part was just even worse. Given what Kat did. Given that plan. Given everything. I get what she wanted, but it was just the shittiest thing ever.
And again, NOTHING HAPPENED. NOTHING. Nothing noteworthy. Nothing scary. Nothing exciting. I was so hoping for murder. For something scary. But I will spoil it now. Nothing. Nothing happens. Such a disappointment after the fantastic and pretty scary The Cheerleaders.

Maybe I will write a longer review after my vacation. For now.. this will do.

I knew I was going to love this book because Kara Thomas wrote it.

Kara Thomas is one of my favorite authors. She writes the kind of YA mystery I crave, cleverly plotted and perfectly paced. Dark and twisty with distinctive characters. Her latest delivers on all of that.

What can I say about That Weekend? It's hard to describe without giving away all the good stuff. I don't reveal spoilers. I can say how it made me feel. I was on a nice suspenseful ride trusting it would end satisfactorily. I was as in the dark as the main character, truths slowly revealed but never in a frustrating way.

Go into this knowing as little as possible. Enjoy the ride.

And for those of you that gave this a low rating only because the subject matter of a certain plot twist at the end is abhorrent to you, I have one thing to say..

Relax people, it's fiction.

I LOVE this author. She is so great at hooking you in right away but i didnt love this ending. I felt like there was so much story left to hear. I needed Claire to learn the truth about jesse and kat, I needed the world to hear the truth. I t was a great story up until the end. A little easy to figure out but still enjoyable. A nice quick read.

Recommended by a student who is an avid mystery reader. I liked it until three quarters of way through. The unreliable narrator was intriguing. But the "twists" in the last part of the book hit with all the subtlety and development of a sledgehammer. Uneven at best.

I really wanted to love this.

This follows a girl named Claire and the weekend that she can't remember. The first 30% had my attention but I just didn't really find it very thrilling and found myself skimming a lot of it. I'm so disappointed that I didn't love this book.

I heard so much praise for this author's previous books and I think it was still a fine YA thriller.

Thankyou for the publishers sending me this as an ecopy arc
