“‘But do you support the gods because they are good, or because they are your family?’”
I think I remember this being my favorite of the series when I was younger and while I still love it, it’s probably not my #1 of the series. It was really interesting to read this book after reading books like Ariadne and Circe that focus on the story of the maze and Daedalus and the Minotaur and King Midas. I loved all the back story we got about that through Percy’s dreams. The events in the maze felt a little disjointed to me, but that’s bound to happen when your main characters are stuck in a maze with threats coming from every direction. All the stuff with Percy and Rachel and Percy and Calypso annoyed me and I’m so sad that Percy and Annabeth are kind of distant with each other at the moment. I did like how everything came together at the end for the battle at Camp Half-Blood. Overall, I love this story still, but this book felt a little like it was just setting up the big bad for the next book.
