I'll start by saying that at this point in my series reread, I'm definitely not rating the quality of these books alone, just how much I'm enjoying rereading them! And for me, I think this may have been my favorite reread so far. I forgot about Rachel Elizabeth Dare, and I really like her character! And I already knew I loved Nico, but <3.
You can definitely tell this series is ~written by a man~ though with how much emphasis is put on the jealous, catty disagreement between Annabeth and Rachel. Like, they're both great characters! It would be so much more interesting if they became friends! Also, I'm tagging this as "ableism" because I just... something feels off with the disability rep. Mostly how coded Tyson is through I/DD and how many ableist insults sneak in. This is a good example of a book that did some disability rep pretty well, full of heroes with ADHD who benefit from it, and most of its other cross/multiple disability rep not that well.
