Needed a short & sweet book to tear through to make my reading goal and this did the trick! Your classic fake dating to real love rom com type book, though not my favorite to be honest

I think the fake dating trope is a little too on the nose for me (does anyone actually do that in real life??? And if they do, does it ever NOT end in actually falling in love???) but also I get that that’s the whole point. Not picking up a book like this and expecting to not know how the plot will go.

Didn’t really love the main characters so I think that dropped the rating for me and then the spicy scenes were wayyy too spicy for me so didn’t love that either!

PHENOMENAL!!! Thank you NetGalley, Bookouture and the author for granting me access to this book in exchange for an honest review.

OH MY SNOWED IN STARS ❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️!!! CATHERINE WALSH HAS DONE IT AGAIN!!! AFTER READING THE "HOLIDAY ROMANCE" LAST YEAR AND ABSOLUTELY LOVING IT SO MUCH I KNEW I WAS IN FOR A TREAT!! DARE I SAY, I LOVED THIS BOOK EVEN MORE!!! HER BOOKS JUST GET BETTER AND BETTER!! THIS IS THE SWEETEST BOOK EVER AND PERFECT FOR THE HOLIDAY SEASON!! WHAT A CHARMING, COZY, ADORABLE, HEARTWARMING, FESTIVE, CHEERFUL, ROMANTIC AND BEAUTIFULLY WRITTEN HOLIDAY STORY WITH NO THIRD ACT BREAK-UP!!! HANDS DOWN ONE OF MY FAVORITE CHRISTMAS BOOKS FOR 2023!! 🩵🩵🩵🩵🩵

Snowed in is a cute wintery rom-com that takes places in a charming small village in Ireland. It has your fake dating trope, friends to lovers trope, runaway bride, forced proximity, dual povs, protective MMC, humor, love, banter, tension, and chemistry. I found myself laughing, crying and swooning!!😂😭🫠

Megan is dreading going home for the holidays because four years ago she ran away from her wedding day leaving her high school sweetheart, golden boy Isaac at the altar. Christian is not looking forward to going home for the holidays because his family sit around all coupled up and give him sad eyes for being alone. Megan and Christian were classmates growing up and the last time they saw each other was the day he caught her escaping her wedding. So when Megan bumps into Christian in a pub in Dublin, they come up with a master plan/written agreement to help each other get through the holiday season. They will return home together for the Christmas holiday as fake dating each other. Of course, rules have been established and both have signed off agreeing to them. However, will they be able to stick to the rules? I mean how hard could it be since its only for two weeks, right?!

Overall, its the perfect cozy holiday read that will leave you feeling all cheerful and ready for the holiday season! I cannot recommend it enough and it deserves infinite stars!!! ♾️♾️♾️♾️♾️🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

SYNOPSIS

Megan is dreading returning to her small village where she's known as the runaway bride who ruined her ex's life. Christian is also not jazzed about going home, albeit for less dramatic reasons. To solve each other's problems, they agree to fake date BECAUSE OF COURSE WHAT OTHER SOLUTION IS THERE??????

MY OPINION

[b:Holiday Romance|61401417|Holiday Romance|Catherine Walsh|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1657109678l/61401417._SY75_.jpg|96871836] remains my all-time fave Christmas romcom but Snowed In comes pretty close to it. Btw Snowed In features cameos of Molly and Andrew from Holiday Romance, so I advise reading that one first so you can fully enjoy their storyline in this one.

Like Holiday Romance, this book is legitimately funny and the characters have great chemistry. This was definitely in-line with most contemporary romances today: Christian was THAT dude with money who was protective and there was wide-open door spice. I can't remember if Holiday Romance also featured the word 'clit', but I feel like it didn't? Anyways, this book definitely does.

I loved Christian; I'm always a sucker for a good looking dude with a questionable past who gets his shit together. He's thoughtful, supportive, and best of all—attentive. The epitome of "if he wanted to, he would!" Megan, I'm happy to be your sister wife should the situation arise.

The reason this wasn't 5 stars was because I couldn't really get a handle on Megan. If you asked me to describe her personality, my brain would short circuit. Trying to picture her in my head was like the first time I heard cats having sex outside my college dorm and I thought they were fighting. But then I was like oh... no they're IN LOVE???? Megan was demure yet sassy yet shy yet horny yet IDK. It didn't quite fit but so be it.

Other than Megan's identity crisis, I LOVED the vibes of this book. It's a quick, bingeable read that made me feel all the things. Thankfully, NO THIRD ACT BREAKUP. I enjoyed the other storylines as well: Christian and his daddy issues, Megan fixing her bad rep, Molly and Andrew's next steps... Just good times all around. ENJOY BOOKSTAHOES!!!!

PROS AND CONS

Pros: legitimately funny, fast-paced, good tension and chemistry, a lil spice for ya'll feral horndogs, Molly and Andrew!!!!!!!, I just know Christian smells GOOD, great subplots

Cons: Megan's personality was all over the place – couldn't really figure her out

Super cute! I definitely loved Holiday Romance more but it was so fun to read about the continuation of Molly and Andrew’s story, and Megan and Christian were so cute too!

This one was definitely spicier so if you’re a closed door girlie just be aware ♥️

A fun read about a run away bride who comes back to her hometown after 5 years away. She reconnects with a man from her hometown while they live in Dublin and try fake dating. We all know how it will turn out and love every minute.
