I enjoyed book one but this second book was way better and it completely blew me away. An amazing read that was so immersive and such a page-turner. I was also pleasantly surprised at the much more adult vibe this had going on. It's not a high burn or even overly spicy but whilst the first book felt distinctively YA in regards to the romance portion this one had a much more new adult flavour which I appreciated.

I also liked that this all takes place in the kingdom of the wicked, fantasy is my happy place and this delivered for me on that front. I do think Emilia is also growing as a character, yes she's still very impulsive and single-minded to the point she continually places herself in needless dangerous situations, but she's also still young in terms of her life experience, so I gave her somewhat of a pass, but girl you need to be more careful and make safer choices.

I am glad she seems to be maturing in terms of her mindset especially as Emilia realises there are secrets buried deep within herself that even she is unaware of, which now are slowly starting to resurface. I also was correct in some of the hunches I had from book one.

The romance in this book is much more of a front-and-centre storyline which was another thing I appreciated and as for Wrath, I adore him. He is patience personified when it comes to Emilia and she could actually try the patience of a saint and yes he's also correct in his analogy that actions speak louder than words and thankfully Emilia is beginning to read the room and has accepted that it's not all black and white.

So If book one drew me into this world intriguing me, book two managed to hook and invest me encouraging me to strap in for the ride. I'm now incredibly excited to begin the final book and I recommend this one for all of my fantasy girlies. It's well written with a fantastic slow-burn romance, lots of danger and intrigue to keep you turning those pages and Wrath is totally delicious and ready to annihilate every one of Emilia's enemies just to keep her safe. It's my first experience with this author but definitely won't be my last.

Look, the first one hooked me. This one was a weird mix of ACOMAF and I don't even know. It needed more depth. I enjoyed it. I will read the third. I am in love with Wrath. But FMC who just... don't grow annoy me. Something was just off with this one. Here's hoping the 3rd book redeems itself.

“In truth, there’s a little villain and hero in each of us. Depending on the circumstances.”

This book was sultry and sinful from page one!
Much like the first book, I could not put this book down.

The tension between Emilia and Wrath was intoxicating. It was just enough “lust” to keep you satisfied but also wanting more!

Emilia’s character development was great. She was so fierce and confident in this sequel. I loved it. She wasn’t waiting to be saved or waiting for someone to give her the answers she needed, she found them herself.

Meeting Pride and the other prince’s was a great addition to this series. Each sin had a unique personality.

I loved the reveal of who wrath really was. I loved the sensitivity and emotion he showed in this book. I have no doubt his character has everyone swooning.

The twists and turns towards the end of this book were perfect to keep you wanting to know more and see what happens in the third book!
