Right from the start this story grips you emotionally. The heartache that Trista goes through is unimaginable. Going through the motions and just existing was no life, so Trista moves to be with her “boyfriend” in Colorado. Yes I used quotations on that one.. Colin… well… DON’T LIKE HIM!! Total jerk right from the start.. Cannot stand him. Enter Jude, who is totally swoon worthy. He gets Trista and wants to be there for her. They are like magnets that connect so easily and fluidly. I love how these two bond and connect. I thought it was perfectly written. To me it seemed that Colin was trying to throw them together in the first place.
I love that Trista throughout this story is growing up. Getting her backbone. Defending herself. And moving on. Jude helps her in so many ways with that. Even his sister does. However, that TWIST! Holy smokes. I sorta but kinda did not see the full blow coming. It floored me and once again Trista was a mess. I seriously need the next book so I can find out the outcome of what happens between her and Jude.
This is the first book by Barbetti that I have read and I have to say I am going to be scouring for the rest of hers. She writes such stunning work. Fluid, descriptive and filled with emotion. The pain through this story is raw and Barbetti really makes you feel that. Words cannot express my love for this one!

Recommend: heck yes (but warning...this is book one of a series and the next book has not been released yet).
Let me start off by saying that I know it has been over a month since my last review and I skipped 2 books. I can't do it. I couldn't read them. They were....ugh. Also, I was pregnant and gave birth to a beautiful baby boy on June 29th. And while I am on the topic, I posted in Colleen Hoover's fb fan group about needing support and positive vibes and a fellow Cohort sent me this book. I am forever thankful.
So...where to begin?
Trista. Trista was born to a mother who didn't care much about her. She didn't care much about anyone except for herself. Leaving Trista to be alone in this big world. Until she met her best friend, Ellie (have tissues ready when you read this) and soon after her boyfriend, Collin. But for years Trista identified as Ellie's friend or Collin's girlfriend. She didn't know what it meant to be Trista. And how many of us can relate to this?
This is part of the reason why I gave this book a 5. It was super relateable. I found myself thinking, "wow, I feel like I'm dating a Colin."
Colin. He is so disconnected from Trista and holding on to a promise he made to Ellie. He's a selfish prick. But I will let you formulate your own opinions.
But then...Trista meets Jude. Tattooed. Nature smelling. Hotness of a man Jude. Yes. He's my book boyfriend this time around. Yes...yes...I have book boyfriends. Don't judge me. But Jude turns Trista's world upside down. Or maybe right side up.
"We seek out the people we need, but that doesn’t mean they need us too."
This book gives perspective and things to think about when it comes to relationships with others and self.

I finished this book two days ago and I still don't have the words to explain how much I loved it. It's been a LONG time since I devoured a book the way I did this one. If you don't read the rest of this review, make sure you read and retain this next sentence: BUY THIS BOOK. Buy it right now. Read it and savor it and wrap yourself up like a burrito inside its pages. Whitney Barbetti's Into the Tomorrows is one of my top reads this year!
First let me start this by saying it's been FOREVER since I read a book so in tune with my own soul. I could feel Trista and her struggles bone-deep. The writing in ITT is phenomenal, capturing you like a sticky spider web and holding you captive. Each sentence is a song, each chapter a poem. There is so much more than an angsty new adult read here (though I do LOVE the angst) - there's self-discovery, there's pain, there's hope. It's absolutely incredible to be a part of.
I'll also say that I wish I could have been the first to read this book so I could call dibs on Jude. Good LORD I haven't fallen for a book boyfriend this hard in quite some time. I'm still dreaming about Jude (also about wrestling bears, but that's a tale for another time). He's attentive - startling so - and he's profound and beautiful and rugged and caring. He's funny. He's hot. He's just... everything. I loved every single second spent with him inside this book.
"Had a man ever looked at me like that? So entirely focused?"
Angst is my thing. It just is. I love to write it, read it, FEEL it - and I felt it so hard during this book. From the moment Trista and Jude met, I knew... I KNEW I was in for a ride. And let me just tell you, I physically ached during this book in the best way.
Surprisingly, Yellowstone was my favorite part of ITT. Everything about that trip called to me and I can't wait to actually get there and see it all myself. The imagery in this book is just insane, and it shows Barbetti's passion for and attention to the tiny details that really make a novel stand out.
"Let me be stained with truth."
I can't say enough good things about Into the Tomorrows and Barbetti's writing style. Yes, there is a cliffhanger, but you know what? It's worth it. I'm actually looking FORWARD to torturing myself and asking what will happen for the next few months as I wait for book two.
If I can leave you with anything, I'd like it to be this: Take a chance on Into the Tomorrows and Whitney Barbetti. You have my word that you won't regret it!
