A classic enemies to lovers romance. Adam Black has been cursed to live as a mortal. He is invisible to all but the fae and sidhe-seers. When Adam discovers that Gabrielle can see him, he must convince her to help him reverse the curse. I forgot how much angst was in this book. Some parts of the book felt dated at times, but I still enjoyed the chemistry between Adam and Gabrielle. It was also great to see Daegus and Drustan again.
Best of the series by far! I loved every page of this book and wish it had been longer.
I did not expect this series to have the redemption arc badboi character. Adam? Did not see it coming. I wish he got to be a more complex character than this, I felt like this book did not do him justice one bit. Missed opportunity, but by this I should expect it.
3.5 stars✨
I enjoyed this book and I feel like I’ve been saying this a lot but I really don’t enjoy a lot of the male leads in this book. Maybe we got too little of Adam’s POV in the beginning but he always give off the wrong kinds of red flags (especially since this isn’t a dark romance).
I enjoyed seeing him struggle with “human” emotions and loved his posh nature. He kind of reminded me of Apollo from the Trials of Apollo, but he always seemed a bit to forceful, in a malicious sort of way, not the funny, cute way.
Anyway, this might just be personal preference but I didn’t really enjoy this book as much others in the series and I doubt I’ll read it again, but the story was pretty good (even if the smut was mid). I give it a solid 3.5 stars.

I think this is my favorite book of the whole series.
Adam Black was a character I couldn’t get enough of, I loved that he was the catalyst to a lot of shenanigans. I loved that he gets a taste of his own medicine and that the Queen wants to teach him a lesson.
Gabrielle is one of the see’ers meaning she can see both worlds the Mortal and the Faery and it is so, so, important that no one knows this. But when she sees Adam she can’t look away and it gives her away.
I loved the interaction the chemistry just everything about this book. The ending oh my the ending <3 My heart grew 2 sizes I swear it.
Again loved the narration.

Another good installment of this series. Adam Black's story was amusing and entertaining. Gaby fits in well with the other Highlander ladies. The next book is the last one in this series, and I'm wishing I would had read this before the Fever series. Oh well!
