I said it in my Skin of the Sea review and I’ll say it here: this would make an amazing movie! I love these books and cannot wait to see more from Natasha Bowen.
adventurous emotional

I when I was reading I was wondering how she would end the story. I obviously knew they would end up together somehow but I was worried she would have to give up being Mami Wata to be with him. I’m extremely happy that this didn’t happen and I love the direction that was taken with the ending. At this point, I just really want a novella of her reuniting with her parent and her ultimate reunion with Kola as well.

I really liked this book a lot. Thought about giving it 5 stars but there were some bits that bothered me, similar issues to the first book in the series where some things just felt forced and unnecessary. Overall I enjoyed this one a lot more than the first one. All in all a great series and would recommend

Great book. I wasn’t thrilled with the ending.

What a fantastic sequel! When you have loved a book so much it’s always a little worrisome reading the sequel for fear the magic will be gone. I loved being back in Simi’s world, learning new legends, meeting new friends and reuniting with old ones.

I was provided an advanced copy of this book which has not affected my review.

I found the conclusion of this book to be particularly satisfying. While I do hope that more books will follow, if this is the end of the series, I think it was a wonderful way to wrap things up. The story explores themes of love, redemption, courage, and self-discovery, making it a great read for a wide range of audiences.

One of the things I appreciated most about this book was the author's writing style. Natasha's prose is absolutely beautiful, and her descriptions are so vivid that they truly transport the reader into the story. Overall, I would highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a heartfelt, engaging read.

I recommend reading the author's note at the end.
