I have to agree with another reviewer that this is a rare instance when first watching the movie was quite helpful (2005 version with Keira Knightly). It was an enjoyable read although the sexism at the time seems flabbergasting now.

I loved the book, however I didn't love the treatment of poor Charlotte.
There is such a double standard in the way Elizabeth treats her versus Wickham in regards to marrying for stability and fortune. She immediately accepts that he would marry up, but she looks down on Charlotte for not choosing a love match. She lets it affect their friendship, despite claiming that she is her best friend. Instead of being happy for her so-called friend she tries to find every reason that she will be unhappy.
It just makes me angry.

This book took me SO long to read but honestly it was worth it. Jane Austen is absolutely hilarious and so witty and even though everyone knows what happens in the end, I still had a great time with it. I would HIGHLY recommend watching the movie first though, cuz idk what I would've done if I hadn't done that first.

It was a wonderful book, just a bit boring. Reading assigned books is always worse than reading on your own. I’m not big on reading classics, but I might read other Austen books after this.

For someone who has avoided classics since finding a few of them boring as a child, this was surprisingly fun to read! The twists and turns of the various relationships were great, and it was interesting too to read a book that was written so long ago and to see how both words and society have evolved over time, while still being so similar in so many ways.
