It really is a book about people going to each other's houses!! XD

But it's so fun and dramatic and can't believe Jane Austen was a classic author who didn't write like one, and the humor is so witty and realistic and familiar that it feels so easy to feel right at home, I'm honestly craving more classics like this, and romance that's pure and clean like this! I will savour the remaining Jane Austen books I have and definitely get the ones I dont very soon!

I expected.... more? I know this was written at the beginning of the 20th century but it was so boring! There is a meme saying that they just go to each other's houses and I agree.

Their mom is the worst. I couldn't stand the selfishness. I guess her only goal in life / responsibility as a mother was to marry off her daughters.

There were some captivating parts

I got this edition specifically to read the commentary by Vivien Jones, but by the time I was done reading I didn't feel like spending more time on this book.

I love this book so much. I come back to it over and over because the story is so well-crafted and the drama is entirely earned. Austen does satire in such a playful way, but if you think about what she's criticising for any length of time you feel the deep injustices inherent in the social system she writes about. This time I was following Darcy's perspective more than I usually do and it was a really rewarding experience to see how often he smiled when Elizabeth was involved. It's just so nice to reread a favourite.

Not sure if this kind of story is for me, but the writing was exceptionally beautiful, it was just a little bland for me on the drama  part. Amazing writing and great book tho
