Ivo Andric deserved every accolade he received and more. I feel like I just spent several months in Bosnia -- Ottoman Bosnia, Austro-Hungarian Bosnia and German-occupied Bosnia during World War II. Rural and urban Bosnia, on the banks of the Drina and the Sava, among Muslims, Orthodox Christians and Catholics, with the working poor, the petit bourgeois and the nascent socialist movement. I want more.  Good thing I have the Bosnian Trilogy to hand.
