A fun, gentle historical romance with a HEA andAsian characters in a regency setting? heck yeah. This has been on my TBR for a while (if not on goodreads, on my radar generally because [a:Courtney Milan|2906892|Courtney Milan|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1245255772p2/2906892.jpg] was one of my favorite people to follow on Twitter), and I got around to it for the superficial duty of keeping my Kindle streak alive. This made for great little breaks of cute banter and feelings over the last couple weeks!

I really appreciate how racism experienced wasn't shied away from (Jeremy's aunt suggesting he marry a white British woman to dilute out his mother's heritage, thinking about what's good for the title but not necessarily Jeremy comes to mind for me)

I LOVE the idea of quirky village festival that draws hundreds once a year (apparently Courtney's inspiration as well, for the Royal Shrovetide Football event), and Chloe with her lists was a very relatable heroine.

I wouldn't call this one spicy (two sex scenes, both were very sincere), but again, playful banter was very swoonworthy.

A lighthearted romance that made me laugh aloud multiple times. Just what I was in the mood for.

This book was such a delight! I don’t have a lot to say about it other than the fact that it was just fun. This is a second chance romance and I would’ve loved to have some flashbacks or something, but they’ve known each other since they were children. He hasn’t told anyone in this village that he’s a duke and he’s finally at the point where he has to come clean because he can’t win her over without her knowing his true identity! Meanwhile Chloe and her dad are working on developing and selling a sauce so that he could get revenge on the men who stole his recipe. This whole story just felt so cozy and I loved it. (And as always, Mary Jane Wells makes it even better.)

Very cute, low stakes plot with a realistic love scene!
