the first part starts off really strong

interesting story and usual Gogol and his satirical and comedic portrayal of Russian society
(Chichikov and the various landlords he encounters)

unfortunately the second part has missing parts inside and just stops mid sentence :/

Biting satire, funny as hell nearly 200 years after it was written. Gogol is so good at quickly sketching a character in detail or painting a scene with such accuracy and concision that I couldn't help but marvel.
