Not my favorite

ok so I love all the McKay men but I just couldn't get into this one. I didn't like how it was all sex and not much story. Don't get me wrong the sex was hot but just not what I'm into. It's probably the same reason why I didn't like 50 Shades of Gray. To each his own. Just not my thing. I'd rather have more romance and less kinky sex, I guess.

Ben McKay is the very very quite member of the huge McKay clan.
Ben has secrets he's a closet Dom and a member of the Rawhide Sex Club. He's use to keeping things to himself and letting himself out inside the club. All that changed when he meets Angel. Angel wants to try out her possible submissive side. So after a very hot night they agree to play with each other for one month.
Slot happens and gets in way of their secret not vanilla relationship but when they both fall for each other they have no Idea how to progress or make it work.
I love that you get to meet the true Ben not just the advice giver or peacekeeper that he'd often called.
Great story simple in some ways boy meets girl and ties her up then HEA. Very hot sexy scenes. If ur not into BDSM then this might not be a good got u. Only thing I say is theirs so much more then the BDSM side.

I don't want to give anything away, but I will say:

1. There is a lot of depth to Ben McKay. Absolutely amazing character development.
2. The McKay family dynamics is absolutely fascinating, and Ms. James always adds different facets to their close, but complicated relationships. I cannot wait to see how the various storylines play out.
3. Love the underlying message of this book.
4. There is always a reason for the direction Ms. James takes her stories, but I still want to kick a certain McKay's butt =)
5. I totally get Ben and I'm not talking about the Dom aspect of his personality.

Though Cowboy Casanova is still a 4-star read, I think this one is my least favorite of all the Rough Riders books I've read. It was great learning more about and getting to know Ben McKay. And Ainsley was great too. But although Ms. James gave us a rundown on the lifestyle, about how a true (or healthy--is that a better term?) Dom/sub dynamic works it is really not my cup of tea.

Also, I don't quite know how to explain or quite put my finger on it but this novel is missing something... Like I said, it's a solid read and just as steamy as the other books and Ben and Ainsley were likable characters but it doesn't quite have the heart or the spirit of the earlier novels in the series.

I am looking forward to reading the rest of the books in the series. I've really grown to love the McKay family and it's always such a treat to read more about them or get an update on their lives.
