I ended up really enjoying the book. I'm reading it because I'm going to be teaching it as a text for a year seven English class. I breezed through it in a few hours in one sitting. I enjoyed the foreshadowing in particular as it gave enough detail that it satisfied and informed you, but didn't leave you frustrated at the characters for figuring out details faster.
I enjoyed the fact that it wasn't the usual portrayal of a city girl that has to go to the country when she hates it there. The elements of those stories played out in a believable way, especially the desire to have contact with the wider world and phone signal.
I really liked it, it was nice to read something that was light, with a simple writing style but still felt fresh.
