Take a photo of a barcode or cover
Immediately felt like one of those books that uses big words to disguise it actually doesn’t have much to say. I could hardly get through a sentence.

I liked the start about depolitization of photography and class struggles with taking pictures of povert etc, but then it becomes an account of all the american photographers and an analysis of their art which I found boring.
If only Sontag was alive today, there would be two more brilliant chapters (at least) about digital photography and selfie culture! Lots of what she does say is true at an exponentially far greater level than it was at the time of writing. I got tons of quotes but not gonna share them - I am selfish that way.
Zaujímavé, no pritom komplikované prevádzanie existenciou fotografie od jej vzniku až do súčasnosti. Od niektorých pasáží som sa nevedela odtrhnúť, iné ma uspali v nekonečných rokoch, dátumoch, menách a príkladoch.

Even more relevant today than when it was written. Images are dishonest, and often appeal to an emotional world beyond what they depict. They disconnect the viewer from reality and create their own, one that changes depending on context. Their power in the modern world is immeasurable. Sontag is as harshly critical of the medium as she seems to be in awe of it, and this book will be one I revisit regularly.
