a sensação de ler este poema era de estar lendo o antigo testamento da mitologia grega, o que não é de todo errado considerando que hesíodo desenvolveu o mito da origem do mundo dos deuses gregos, assim como a extensa árvore genealógica não apenas dos deuses, mas dos heróis e criaturas (parabenizo ele por ter citado o nome de 30 dos 6000 filhos de oceanus, é muita coisa). e eu só conseguia pensar no trecho "time eats all his children in the end" do musical ride the cyclone lendo as partes que davam a entender que a hora de destronar zeus também chegaria eventualmente, bem ominoso

i'd like to thank hesiod for making these so short that i don't get too sleep deprived while reading them at 2am before my seminar tomorrow AND for having so little characterisation that it wasn't TOO sexist! thanks mate.

An unnessecarily ambiguous poetic lesson on the origin and descent of the Greek gods & a whole lot of incest. A bit dull, even with all the linguistic theatrics.

I mean this was for school so I wouldn’t like choose to read it otherwise but hell yeah I love Greek mythology.
