I waffled between a 1 and a 2 star rating for this one. There were some good parts to it but the majority of the book I was just cringing with feelings of ickness and grossness. I don't really understand some of the stuff that was put in here. It was just some chapters and parts just left you feeling seriously uck... and it seemed like it was for no reason. It seemed like every page the author was like hmm... how could I make this just a little more disturbing? I don't know, I really wanted to like this. I pushed through all 470 plus pages of it but I just didn't like it. I am looking forward to moving onto the next...

It got too disturbing...the scenes with Hakan, especially the sexual assault scene was just too much and honestly shouldn't have been in there. Don't know why people think this is such a great book.

This is the perfect vampire story, but it’s also much more than that. This is a story about love, loss, and loneliness, and man does it make you feel things.

I love when an author is able to balance multiple stories in a book and have them weave in and out of each other, which Lindqvest does masterfully. It’s like watching 3 cars drive down the same road, sometimes passing each other, sometimes riding alongside, but each one stops at the perfect moment to allow the story of Eli to reach the perfect finale.

God I loved this book.

A great read. It's a unique and disturbing twist on the vampire tale.
