I read this book quite a bit ago so I cannot include a ton of specific details, but I loved reading this book sooo much. The premise was so captivating, and I thoroughly enjoyed watching Eliza blossom as she passed through the official mourning stages, shedding her former life and finally getting the chance to choose herself and find strong, lasting love along the way. The love plotline had me gripping the edge of my seat; I truly had no idea how it was going to play out most of the time
BUT I WAS SOOO FUCKING HAPPY THE TRUE ENGAME WAS MELVILLE, I WANTED IT TO BE HIM FROM THE START WE GOT A LOVE INTEREST OF COLOR I WON SO HARD
and I loved how it ended up playing out and concluding. I tore through the audiobook for this; Imogen Church was such a great narrator and I didn’t want to “put the book down” I needed to know what happened next!! I had so much fun and I definitely want to acquire a paper copy of this book for my personal library.

Rather enjoyable with a lead heroine that I first found a little annoying but grew to love. Surrounded by a vibrant cast of characters, this was a pleasurable interlude into the regency era.

Honestly it was just way to slow and I can see what’s going to happen. Bit too boring
