To all the girls who still sleep with the lights on, but read the scary stories anyway.
I felt a bit called out by this right at the start :D I'm not a big horror fan, although I'm a lover of all things spooky. This was an interesting read, specially the parts of the writers of the past and not the current/modern ones. For sure, I have some new authors to check out and to put on my TBR list. It was also a cozy read, sort of, the chapters written in such a way you can just pick up the book for a while when you find small pockets of time, and put it down until the next one.

A really good list of authors to read from, and I've got a much longer reading backlog because of it! It's not much more than that though IMO; the biographies of each writer seemed scarce, and more space was given to the story summaries.

This was a great introduction to Women writers of the horror/gothic/science-fiction genre. I knew about 10% of them and was very excited to find out more about them and to get to know more writers. I added a few reads to me TBR-list thanks to this audio book. The only downside was that the description of the lives of these women were very short and sometimes even sparse. I guess, this is the downturn of adding so many names to the book. However, it is great to have such a compilation to get back to when on the hunt for new reads. I also very liked the introduction and classification of the writers at the beginning of each chapter.
