I really loved this book. The narrators so an amazing job given there is a lot of rap/spoken work poetry it was seamless. This book so so much deeper than your typical romance and I am so here for it!

#23for23 (Learn more at: https://www.23for23.net/)

I read this book with my audible subscription trial.

Brief Summary: Bristol Gray is on a mission. Reconnect with her brother and get him to see that he was meant for something bigger than he sees for himself. However, when she arrives, it quickly becomes clear that her brother is avoiding her. Especially since his best friend, Marlon James is the person who greets her at the airport and hosts her during her stay. As Bristol tries to unpack her feelings about her familial relationships, Marlon begins to be more than just her host. With the chemistry between them undeniable Bristol risks her heart, but fate might have other things in store.

Thoughts: I had previously read Ryan's Before I Let Go and loved that book. So, I decided to go back and read her back catalogue. Because I am weird I decided to read the prequel before the book, which was published first. I have to say that this was a great appetizer for the book and I am still waiting to get my hands on a copy from the library.

The chemistry between Bristol and Marlon's chemistry was immediate and undeniable.

I also really enjoyed Bristol as a character. Even though she is only in college, her career drive is admirable and relatable. It does border a little on control issues, not in a vicious sense, more as I am trying to manage my anxiety by having very clear, detailed plans. Ryan's writing made Bristol come to life on the page and embody what being a young college student feels like.
