I listened to the audiobook and my only criticism is that I sometimes found myself needing to repeat parts because the narrator didn’t really distinguish the voices of the different characters, so sometimes it was hard to follow who was saying what until I listened over again.

One of the most unique settings I've ever read. A city entirely surrounded by a violent storm. The world building is unlike any I've read before. It's intricate yet easy to follow, and all but vibrated off the page.

It's a quick read if that's what you're looking for, but grips your throat on the first page and never lets go. Revolution, possession, plots, spies, secret histories and more.

Also, this book has one of the most memorable and believable enemies to lovers arcs I've read in a while.

This is the best NA fantasy i’ve read this year. Maybe ever. Original, captivating, addicting. Pain and family expectations are two themes that really drive the story. Really easy but interesting world building.

All of the predictions I made as I was reading were wrong, which is a good thing! I didn’t find The Darkening predictable or cliche at all.

The last half of the book is especially thrilling with shades of Hell Bent and  Red Queen.

Yeah, no complaints at all. Can’t for book 2.

This is the first book I’ve picked up since middle school, trying to get into reading, and it was a little bit disappointing. It had its moments but overall it was very meh, and the ending was very VERY confusing. Definitely am not going to reread, very turned off from reading the second book coming out soon :(

An incredible magical world with unforgettable, flawed characters making their way through mysterious, fantastical and real challenges. I was wrapped up in magic and diving into the depths of very-human grief, longing, desire, and hope. I cannot wait for the sequel!!!
