At times I loved this book and at times I hated it. At the end, this story was all over the place. Dalca and Vesper's relationship has potential but I'm nervous because I thought this book was lacking something. Vesper sometimes got on my nerves with her hero complex.

Ooo! This one was so exciting!
I struggled to get into it with the first couple chapters, but I am so happy I gave it a chance! Because man, once I was into it, I was INTO IT. My heart is pumping with that last chapter. Can't wait for the next one!

Very slow start for me. But the plot eventually had more character interaction about a third of the way through to finally pull the story through.

i really wanted to love this book but i was SO disappointed with the outcome. the world building and magic system made no sense, and it was just random sillyness everywhere, the romance SUCKED. it was "enemies to lovers" but they fell in love like 50 pages in. the characters all sucked, especially her dad. and since he literally died this whole book was pointless. the plot and pacing made zero sense and i had no idea what was going on the entire time

That was a wild ride. I adore the world building and dreamlike descriptions of events. Imaginative and unique, with a powerful ending that makes you want to immediately dive into the next book.
